About
WHO WE ARE
- COA introduced the concept of providing cities, towns and transit authorities, (our Recycling Partners), with locally sponsored, cost free and fully serviced recycling stations for their public space areas. As the popularity of this environmentally significant program grew we saw the opportunity to add value by integrating community outreach and environmental education to our suite of cost free services.
- COA acquired Recycle Media and its complete set of well designed recycling resource materials for use by city staff during their school visits as well as other youth and community group leaders to reinforce the recycling message with school age children.
- Recycle Media is COA’s Environmental Division and combines all our public space recycling services and environmental education services under one banner. Recycle Media has municipal and transit recycling partnerships across North America including recent programs for both Nashville TN and Las Vegas NV!
WHAT IS PUBLIC SPACE RECYCLING?
- Most cities and towns have well established recycling programs operating in their residential and commercial areas. Recycling boxes on the curbside or under an office desk are common sights. However, when we stop to cross a busy intersection, or wait at a bus stop, usually the only receptacle for waste is a city trash can. A trash can guarantees that everything we put in will end up at the local landfill.
- Recycle Media’s public space recycling program starts with our attractive and functional recycling stations. These recycling stations make it possible for you to deposit your recyclable material separately from trash. After our local service team empties each recycling station we bring all the recyclable material to your local processor at no cost. This means less waste in your landfill!
- How much waste can be diverted? In the city of Pueblo Colorado, twenty seven public space recycling stations diverted almost 13 tons of recyclable material in only the first 6 months of our program!
WHY DOESN”T MY CITY HAVE PUBLIC SPACE RECYCLING?
- Have you ever wondered why your city still places trash cans at busy, high traffic public space areas? The answer is cost. If was easy for a city to start its own public space recycling program then every city would have one. Truth is, the cost of buying the hardware, insurance, manpower, collection, cleaning, graffiti removal, vandalism repair puts a publically funded program out of reach for cities and transit authorities.
HOW DOES THE RECYCLE MEDIA PROGRAM WORK?
- Recycle Media is a full service provider of cost free municipal and transit recycling programs. Every aspect of our program from product design and installation to collection of waste and recyclables is completely under our control. Nothing is outsourced. This high level of in-house control means that when we make a commitment to our municipal/transit recycling partners we have the ability to deliver.
- Recycle Media staff are trained and available to collect waste and recyclables from our units. Our hands on involvement in location identification, installation and waste collection mean we are able to manage contamination rates to ensure that what is delivered is recycled!
- We contract exclusively with cities or transit so our units are never installed on private property. This means our city /transit partners are in 100% control over every aspect of our program.
- Recycle Media has recycling station designs to fit any streetscape.
- Recycle media assumes 100% of all capital cost
- Once installed, our recycling stations will allow glass, plastic, cans, and paper to be deposited separate from trash.
- All recyclable material (and associated revenue) that we collect is given to your local processor at no cost!
- Recycle media creates jobs by hiring and training local staff to service ,maintain and collect from our recycling stations
HOW IS THE PROGRAM PAID FOR?
- Recycle Media’s program is a public-private partnership funded entirely through (city/transit approved) sponsorship advertising from local business. Recycle Media has over 35 highly trained National Sales and Marketing Specialists who manage over 4,000 paying sponsors. The sponsorship advertising revenue makes our program 100% cost free to city/transit partners. In fact a portion of the gross advertising revenue is set aside for our city/transit partners each month in return for advertising rights.
WHO CONTROLS THE ADVERTISING?
- Recycle Media‘s advertising standards match or exceed those of most cities. Our city/transit partner is in 100% control and Recycle Media manages all ad content and appearance to ensure conformity to all regulations.
WHAT ABOUT COMMUNITY SUPPORT?
- Recycle Media introduces its recycling stations with a personalized recycling message.
- Recycle Media will make advertising space available to our City/Transit partners at no cost for community messaging.
- Recycle Media understands that city/transit recycling staff regularly go out to the local schools to reinforce the recycling message. We have age appropriate resource material that will both engage and inform school age children. This material comes complete with a teacher’s tutorial to assist in its presentation.
- Recycle Media makes this resource material available to city/transit partners for the duration of our program.
PROVE IT!
- Recycle Media has invested heavily in service data management systems which we use to build in huge efficiencies in the management our business. We share this data with our city/transit partners! Our accountability to you is completely transparent. Here’s how it’s done:
- All Recycle Media service staff in your community will be trained and equipped with GPS verified laser scanners. Combined with our in-house bar code system, scanner service data is uploaded in real time to “WebPortLive”, (Recycle Media’s password protected Operations website).
- Using WebPortLive, city/transit officials can:
- Monitor our service call frequency
- View what service activity was conducted
- Interact directly with our field operations staff
- Map some or all the recycling stations
- View every recycling station location
- Get program related multi format reports instantly
- When recyclable material is weighed on delivery volumes are recorded.
